Leadership Development

If we set goals for people and they do not attain the goals, there are only three reaons:

  • They are unable
  • They are unwilling
  • They are inadequately trained

Looking at the world around us, there are constant examples of leaders making poor decisions. In many instances it is simply a lack of training. No-one wakes up in the morning and says "I am going to fail miserably today and make some really poor decisions" - and yet many do. Brent's passion in life is to develop leaders. He does this through personal coaching, keynote speaking, seminars, articles, soccer coach instruction, soccer referee and at churches and institutions where he is invited to speak.

People learn in four main ways:
  • Through their own experience
  • Through watching others
  • Through reading all available literature
  • Through a combination of the above which includes formal and informal instruction

Simply put, we do not have the time to learn from our own mistakes. It is a costly and time-consuming process. We HAVE to make the effort to find a mentor, do some courses.

Brent can help by identifying the potential leaders within your organization, identifying their training needs and setting them on the path to become great leaders.

Brent offers team-building events with customizable prorgams. They can be half day, full day or a few days as required. With an active sporting background Brent can customize your program to include outdoor events, hiking, canoeing, horse-riding or high performance driving. For details call Brent 817-307-4559 or email Brent.

Brent first was introduced to this program as a soccer coach instructor. As a coach the tendency is to coach the team to the level of the lowest player.  If a player is weak on dribbling, the coaching sessions revolve around dribbling to improve that player. If shooting is weak with the left foot, the exercises focus upon improving the shooting with the left foot. Players are constantly being corrected with little emphasis upon their strengths.

Strengths based coaching, focuses upon finding the strengths of the individual, and then focuses the organization in using these identified strengths to the benefit of all. Bringing this program into your organization requires that all participants take Gallup's Tom Rath's critically acclaimed Strengths Finder test, which Brent will then assimilate into the organization.

Brent has attached his strenghts (v1.0) to offer more inight and for organizations who would be interested in using his strengths and the 34 strengths identified by Gallup (v1.0). Contact Brent for more details, or to order the books.
